"America's Richest MTB Stage Race made for everyone"

Frequently Asked Questions

1: What is the American Mountain Classic?

The AMC is a true XC/Endurance MTB Stage Race designed to test top athlete's in all categories, as well as allow mountain bike enthusiast to push themselves to the limit.  Its a four day stage race that travels over 170 miles with 14,000+ feet of climbing. However, this is not an adventure survival test!  If getting lost in the jungles of South America or 12 hour stages are what you are looking for, the AMC may not be your event.

2:
Who can compete at the AMC?

We have individual and two person team divisions.  The "Elite" field is for Pro or Elite level racers.  However, the Elite classes are open to anyone wanting to race for cash.  The "Open" divisions are for top level NON PRO riders; AKA Expert riders. The "Sportsman" and "Sportswomen" class' are designed for the mountain bike enthusiast and the less "hardcore"racer, who is more for fun than all out competition. The team divisions will consist of two people, either all male, all female or Co-Ed.  Both racers race all four stages and teammates don't have to finish together. Your total team time will be the combined time of both teammates.

3: Where is Brian Head, Utah?

Brian Head is located in the Western United States and is one of Utah's most scenic areas.  The resort town is located in South Western Utah, just outside of Cedar City.  It sits just about 9,000 feet above Sea Level in the Dixie National Forest.  Bryce Canyon National Park and Cedar Breaks National Monument are just a short drive from Brian Head.

Brian Head is located approximately 3 hours from Las Vegas, NV and 3 hours from Salt Lake City, UT for those looking to fly in and rent a vehicle.  Note: There is no shuttle service from either Airport. Your other option is to drive in your own personal vehicle.
